A friend of mine had recently asked me if I can find something else other than the fabric I've posted here. She wanted something similar to the Carnival bloom, but in pink. So I found this and have to say, this has easily become one of my girly favourites.

When I decided to give this business a try, there were 2 things I hope for. To enjoy making it, and to make baby, and family happy. In this very short time that I started, many people have given me their support and encouragement. It makes me happy to feel like I've given a small token of love to other people.
I promise myself once I'm done our wedding in September, I'll work on an actual website and have things more organized :)

But meanwhile, thank you for this!!!

For me, part of the fun part of doing this is looking around for fabrics and new patterns. Everyone has a different taste and idea of what they want, but something bright and fun or sweet for the babies is always a good option.
To order your baby blanket in these patterns, let me know a little in advance! They will need a little time to arrive, but they're worth it. :)

I love Amy Butler fabrics! I finally got a request for baby girl...so I took the opportunity to make one with Amy Butler's designs. (although it's not part of the assortment below), but I'll work on getting some.

My idea of girly girl is this wall flower print. Hope the lil one will like it! :)

Minky vs Fleece fabric

Babies have alot more luxury these days. When I decided to make these, I wanted to make sure I had the softest material so they will feel not only warm, but comfortable, and still look fashionable for both baby and mommy.

Most of the time, I use a material called Minky. Minky has gotten alot more popularity in the recent years. It is a 100 % polyester soft microfiber fabric - 100% polyester. It has a more luxurious look and feel to it. Trust me, it has a feel of cashmere, and it is still as warm as fleece. I have always ordered my minky from the States, because I just couldn't seem to find the quality here. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places.

Sometimes, I use micro chamois fleece. It is also 100% polyester. It is basically a silkier and smoother micro fleece that is just as cuddly.

Both Minky and fleece do not shrink when washed. However I always prewash them before I sew. :)

When I first took my sewing workshop, one of the first thing I noticed were the fabric that was sold there. I was so inspired by the colours and patterns! And more so inspired to make something!!

Baby Blankies

Motivated to make something special for my nephew, baby Nathan, I continued sewing baby blankets after he was born. Here are just some of the ones I've made. They measure 30' x 36', fit for a stroller, and big enough as a crib blanket. And they cushioned enough for tummy time! They're made with 100% cotton backed with either really soft fleece or minky. Hi everyone! Thanks for dropping by my Mini Me Baby Creations blog!

I've always like to make crafts and decided to take a sewing class sometime last year when my sister was pregnant. I wanted to try to make something personal for the future addition to the family. I had sewed back in high school, but remembered telling myself that sewing is the last thing I want to do. I can make anything else, but sewing just isn't my thing. But either way, I was determine to give it a shot since high school was really 10 years ago.

Anyway, long story cut short, I took a workshop class and I enjoyed it so much that I bought a sewing machine...and that's how I started...

Baby blankies are my favourite to make. Blankie was the thing I remembered bonding with the most when I was young. :)

So I figured why not put a smile on other mommy and babies out there?
